Well, the election is over, and Barack Obama is our president-elect.
The WiseUSA '08 program has come to a close, but in a way WiseUSA is just
becoming visible. Would you like to continue a subtle practice to nurture the heart and soul of America? What visions do you have for supporting a WiseUSA?

I tried to speak on the call tonight, but for some reason could not get through even though I was not on mute. It must have been my night to listen. May I offer these thoughts ...

(1) In the spirit of celebration and looking ahead, I'd like to offer something one of my teachers says, and that is, "The better it gets, the better it gets!" Woooo-hooooooo! It's a new day!
(2) I'm taking a class in "turning" - the dance of the whirling dervishes. The dervish cannot hold her arms up by will alone for the long periods of time she is turning. Something bigger must take over. As Alfredo said, Obama needs our ongoing conscious support to help him keep his arms up/heart open.
(3) I think the idea (Joseph's?) of Wise[insert country] is an empowering idea and would help avoid an ethnocentric overlay on another country's process and deep cultural knowing about the soul of their own country. Additionally, part of what we need now is to focus domestically, internally on our own people, the soul of our own country as it takes its first steps forward in this fresh new day.
(4) Someone sent me an e-mail recently describing what it was like to wake up one morning in 2013 as Obama is beginning his second term as President and recollecting all of the beautiful changes that have already taken place and the ones just around the corner. This type of visioning - as if it has already taken place - is very powerful. Perhaps not well done in a group as everyone's vision is different, but perhaps at a high level of affirming good, we could concur on images to hold (everyone fed, smiling faces, low unemployment charts, etc.) for our country.
(5) I recall Lynne Twist talking about the Ecuadorians calling in the Shamans when there was an impasse in their constitutional deliberations. When important deliberations come up in Congress or the country at large, or in a particular state, we could meet to support this process via subtle activism.
(6) In addition to meeting in conference calls, short, focused e-mails could suggest a topic/theme/situation for us to integrate into our personal meditation/prayer practice for that month ... to join together that way during the month, then perhaps come together in a meditation/meeting at the end of the month.

I sincerely hope that the recorded calls will stay up on this site for a good while to come so that we can listen to the ones we missed. Can you notify us before they are taken down? Also, I would dearly love information about the song Gary Malkin wrote, played, and sang at the Nov. 2nd event about Love calling. It was one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and would love a recording or piano sheet music!

One of the things I'm most thankful for is to finally have a name for something I've practiced for many years and try to explain to friends who ask why I'm not "doing" more for some cause or other: subtle activism. The term trembles inside me with delight!
Namaste,
Jana

Many thanks Jana for these great suggestions. We'll definitely take them into our dialogue and deliberations about what's next. And I'm especially happy to hear how meaningful it is for you to find, through 'subtle activism', a name for the work you've been doing all these years. Your comments echo the experience of many people we've been in touch with who report an "aha" moment when they recognize a way to understand and express an approach that is inherently difficult to articulate.

Blessings,
David

Have not been on the Site for a little while and had a few extra moments today to read and explore a bit. May I also add that we must each live as Consciously as possible and One En-Lightened Being elevates those that are just awakening. We each have our own unique way of expressing that which is within our hearts, minds and Souls. ThankFULL, we have the Freedom to do that. At this time we are attempting to undo many years of unconsciousness which has resulted in tremendous pain on many levels. I do believe that we are moving forward with eyes open to the Vast inter-Connectedness of it ALL. I will mention that I recently listened to "Power versus Force" and it did result in concern over the negotiations that are being made with low consciousness Leaders around the world. We can Hold President Obama up as he begins to repair the damages. Ok. enough words. Back to the Studio to express in Clay. Peace to ALL.
