by Becky Dennis My love of sea turtles came to me when i was only 3 and began drawing them. during this life Journey they have continued to come to me in dreams. this one was actually an experiment in Glazing and i was so overJoyed he came forth out of the kiln whole & complete.

EMERGENCE

by Becky Dennis this piece is special to me because the inSpiration came to me in a lucid dream just before Katrina arrived. In the dream a gigantic sea turtle swam up to me and communicated the message "Have NO Fear. we are One." and so eventually this piece came forth. i am currently working on a new one with mirrors in the eyes to represent that folks mirror us. They are fired in Raku which is really risky(good lesson in loving non-attachment) since there is so much time in the creation of the piece and then to pull it out of the FIRES when it is red hot, well, it is a powerful thing. .

by Becky Dennis i love to garden and dig in the earth and use the weeds as medicine. while in the yard i found some lady bug larvae. since i do NOT use any chemicals, i watched over the course of a time as they cocooned themselves and then emerged whole and complete. it felt similar to my path and journey in this life. This one is in my personal collection. The first woman has no face which symbolizes that people often "experience who they are NOT before they know who they are" as N. D. Walsch says. The second woman has a fire above her head and represents moving thru the fires and waters and such that move us deeper into ourselves and our Truth. We must go within or we will go without!!! and finally the woman emerges at Peace.

by Becky Dennis i love TREES and this one has three tree women sculpted into it. ( you would have to experience it in person) There is only one hand and when i went into meditation to discover WHY, i became aware of the message "2 give and 2 receive are 1." There is also a sweet turtle below. It was selected to be exhibited in the OHR RISING museum exhibition.

by Becky Dennis Again, after katrina, when i was finally back in the studio, this piece demanded i make her. since we have so many rescued cats, we stayed in our home during the storm and the TREES were life savers on so many levels. They absorbed water, they were a safe haven for folks to climb, they shielded our homes from immense winds and they are HOME to many creatures and LIFE on the planet. anyway, this was in the OHR musuem. i am making a two more similar pieces that will soon be availble if they survive the firings!

by Becky Dennis After going thru katrina, i was unable to work for a while. when i got my studio back up and running, i co-created this piece to represent a healing and connection between chris and i. we repaired my parents home and it was so challenging but it seemed to help us re-connect on many levels.

by Becky Dennis I had my eye on this medicinal plant called bearsfoot for a long time. When i finally received it and planted it in the yard and watched it grow and grow, i was compelled to press the beautiful leaves in clay and then women emerged... they were fired in raku. Cool story goes with it, and it is on my web site under story-teller shares.

by Becky Dennis my Friend Lori and I journeyed to the garden of the gods in colorado and were able to get caught in fast forming hail storm. might have been frightening to her but i just laughed all the way to the car as i was pelted with ice. after katrina, it seemed funny to me that we went all the way to colorado and were able to experience THAT.
