Profile Information

About Me:
Tanya Ferencak is a community organizer, trainer and facilitator who has worked on development issues both in the U.S. and abroad. Tanya’s background includes many examples of her dedication to healing individuals as well as communities around the world. She is passionate about alternative models of leadership and proactive stewardship of natural and created communities. She has facilitated grassroots environmental and community revitalization projects both internationally and in the U.S.

Tanya recognizes the vital role that activists and direct service providers play as agents of social change. She values the importance of contemplation, meditation and reflection as tools for sustainable social transformation.

Inspired Activism is an organization that is dedicated to supporting non-profit and service oriented agencies that work toward creating positive change in the world. For service minded organizations unhealthy work habits can result in stress, exhaustion and illness. Overwork can create high turnover and burnout. Suspicion and conflict taint relationships between allies. Without even realizing it, we can easily end up participating in the very dynamics of oppression that we are trying to transform.

The approach of Inspired Activism is to create stronger, healthier organizations from the inside out. By revealing the deeper, maybe unconscious, motivations that lead us to choose socially responsible careers we can bring healing to the dynamics that prevent us from truly being effective in this work. Consciousness and awareness around institutional and individual practices build organizations that are better equipped to make a lasting impact in their communities.

It is the philosophy of Inspired Activism to support individual’s passion of social mission while maintaining a productive synergy between doing good for others and maintaining healthy individual lives.

The Healing Light

Dear Friend,

There are many efforts at healing individuals through the use of subtle energies, including efforts to heal from a distance. It may also be possible to heal a large number of people — a whole country — from a distance with the use of creative visualization and psychic energy.

Ethnic and racial tensions, hate, violence — all create a dark, negative energy field which continues to manifest itself in additional divisions and violence. Thus, there is a need for a Healing Light which will help scars to heal and divisions to be overcome through a knowledge of the unity of all life. Such Healing Light will give new energy to peacemakers who exist in all societies to build bridges and work for reconciliation.

There is a need for those of us who work with subtle energies to be active in projecting Healing Light to the many parts of our planet where tensions are strong and violence ever present. Your efforts are most welcome. Rene Wadlow

Hi Tanya,
I was first attracted to read your profile because I use to live in Longmont (1992 to 1998). I live in Costa Rica and was very impressed with your profile in Gaiafield. If you'd care to make contact and share a bit with one another, I would like that. I have a 27-1/2 Acre "Wildlife Sanctuary" in Costa Rica where I have 4 separate rentals (the way I support the Sanctuary and myself). I don't wish to go into more details now, but it would be nice to make contact with you, should you care to do so.
Warm regards, Kati Winnegrad

It's wonderful to have you with us and I will be interested in hearing your perspective on the website as things progress. I hope that you will feel inspired to participate in some of the activities we're planning for our WiseUSA program in the buildup to the election this year.
